Batten Down the Hatches?

Hurricane swirl pattern picture taken from space. The Eastern seaboard of the United States is completely covered by white, swirling clouds...all the way inland to Ohio and Kentucky.

Is it wrong that when I saw the pictures of Time Square being battered by Tropical Storm Irene one of the first things I thought was “I wonder if there’ll be a storm episode in Castle this season”? And was looking forward to what it might be? So many options: people being stuck together…or apart, ticking clock for catching a killer, ripped-from-the-headlines relevance.

Oh, natural disasters, you’d be so much fun to play with. Why haven’t I done that yet?

Any plot devices you want to try but haven’t?
